The Awakening & the Force
Star Wars. The Force Awakens! To say I am excited and geeking out about seeing the Force Awakens, the next installment of the Star Wars saga is an understatement. I got lucky and a friend sold me his ticks for Thursday evening’s premiere. Less than 36 hours away!
Will it live up to all the hype? I think it will. Early reviews are in. Many movie critics, entertainers, and Star Wars fans lucky enough to score premiere ticks all say they were wowed.
My fiancé, Jason is cynical. Not a shocker.
I noticed some haters. Including the Mayor of NYC. I don’t get it. Not sure what all the excitement is about. Seriously?
Star Wars is iconic. I still remember my dad bringing me to the premiere of the first Star Wars movie in 1970 something. Never mind the year!
The scene when Darth Vader enters the rebel battleship with Storm Troopers. I was awe struck. The cool scene of Luke Skywalker in the land rover was epic. (Why don’t we have cool land rovers already? Come on). The hilarious and crazy cantina moment. Beyond cool.
Will it have the original magic? Will the new characters have the impact that Darth Vader, Han Solo, Princess Leia and Boba Fett did? It is awesome that Princess is promoted to General Leia. Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca are back.
(Did everyone see the Today Show interview with Carrie Fisher? Hi-la-rious!)
I fell in love with the Star Wars saga. The fight against the dark side. (I always wanted to be Darth Vader over Luke for Halloween though). I was too short to be the Dark Lord. It was the cool ass black costume. Vader does become good in the end.
There was something that pulled me towards the saga. (Just like my obsession with super heroes).
The fantasy continues. Thursday night!!!
In a galaxy, far, far..ok the Union Square Theater.
Don’t talk loud. Jason needs to hear and see it.
For those who don’t get it. Go see the first original three on a big screen or at home on a big screen. If you are not then excited that the Force Awakens will have the style and magic of the original saga then boo hoo your loss.
We will never be this excited Star War fans! Until of course when we see it again and again…and wait for the next one. We thought it was done. But the battle in a galaxy far far away continues.
